Love For Syria campaign

Listen to Faith Collides episode break on Love For Syria:

Watch Laurie Hart, founder of Love For Syria, share how you can get support the “Keep a Syrian Child Warm this Winter” campaign:

Since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011, over 2 million Syrians have fled to Jordan. Traumatized by the terrors of war, left homeless and uncertain of how to provide for their families, a small group of women began knitting.

In 2013, Laurie Hart traveled to Jordan during her vacation to meet this group of Syrian women. After the initial meeting in 2013, Laurie began focusing on knitwear branding, marketing, and product distribution on her spare time, while her new Syrian friends continued to perfect their handicraft, and this is how Love for Syria got started.

Love For Syria is a US non-profit providing income while restoring hope and dignity to Syrian refugees through handicrafts.

Love For Syria currently supports a knitting group of 60 Syrian women, each earning a monthly salary of 100JD (approx. US$140). Thirteen of the 60 are original members. By purchasing a piece of knitwear, you’re not just supporting refugees but you’re providing someone with dignity and hope for their future.

Help spread Love For Syria this holiday season by giving a gift to a Syrian child in need. One $75 donation will provide of a blanket, hat and toy to a Syrian refugee child, and at the same time, provide two weeks of wages to a Syrian woman who hand-crafted the items. As a memento, each donor will receive an ornament of a Syrian refugee child who received the package.
